Sheol, the underworld, is the sixth plane of Strife. A sealed realm, Sheol was dedicated to holding those who were truly evil at a time when the people of the world(s) were at odds with one another. In the modern day, the deceased enter Sheol upon death, but can be communed with by certain individuals.
A prophecy says that this plane will one day reopen, and let the Dharkwave, a race of demonic beings, invade. Not everyone believes in the prophecy, but whatever the truth of the matter, the Keepers of the Code enacted the Trials of Strife to train heroes for the coming invasion.
"Sheol" translates as "grave", "pit", or "abode of the dead" in the Old Testament and Hebrew Bible.
